Strateas Carlucci rose the bar high on day one of fashion week. Designers Peter Strateas and Mario-Luca Carlucci showed a well edited and superbly styled minimalist collection in a colour palette of navy blues, greys, whites and blacks. The clothes were tailored to perfection, making me want to buy everything for the colder weather coming. Complimented by the amazing Tiffany & Co jewellery, this show was truly a breathe of fresh air. There was pieces for everyone, from merino wool lapel-less jackets to sturdy kangaroo leather jackets with exposed industrial zippers.

Definitely chasing up stockists next week.

Camilla's angels

Held a "Gypsy" party a while back in this awesome artists studio in Kings Cross. Bought 10 small packets of fries from McDonalds, made two huge pots of sangria, which everyone loved and invited a few of my friends to come boogie the night away.

People got kinda confused as to what a gypsy was, with interpretations ranging from, bohemian, Indian, nomadic to even sci-fi? I ended up wearing a Camilla Franks kaftan which is probably the most awesome thing to ever adorn my body. These are just a few of the film shots that I took that night.

Let’s play it safe. Sometimes it's good to stick to the things that you are comfortable with. Screw pushing boundaries and going into unfamiliar territory. 

Take for example movies. I know what I like and what I don't like. I like pretty much everything besides horror. I simply can’t deal with horror movies, even Harry Potter freaks the crap out of me.

And the worst thing? No one seems to believe me.

Everyone insists that this movie isn't scary or that they will be there to 'protect' me. Like this one time went I went to the movies with someone I was romantically inclined with, only to be unwillingly dragged off into a Paranormal 2 session. Let's just say it didn’t end well. I’m not quite sure if he didn’t quite believe me when I proclaimed that I can't deal with horror or if he thought it would create the ideal opportunity for me to cower in his body. By my tenth scream during a non scary part I think he got the message.

Anyways how does this relate to what I'm wearing? Well sometimes you should just stick to the comfortable bubble that is commercial menswear and not push it. Unless it's your skanky outfit for Friday night.

My obsession with paisley reached a whole new level this year largely due to the amazing Fall 2013 collection by Dries Van Noten. When I first saw the runway photos, I was instantly overcome with so much positive emotion I almost cried. No joke. The collection was so beautiful and perfect in every single way, I had to have it. This obsession is worse then my obsession with men. Instead of talking about boys, future husbands and the D, my friends had to endure me moaning about how I didn't own any of it yet. Very much a first world problem.

For his Men's "The Morning After" collection, Dries Van Noten showed luxe, louche pieces in earthly browns, golds and burgundies, styled in elements of evening wear and track pants. A very boho, I just woke up and grabbed the closest thing on the floor and ended up looking amazing with no effort kind of look.

Unfortunately for me, I only know one stockist, LN CC that ships to Australia. Which is so horribly depressing.
